Anita Gleason has been drawing and painting since she was a little girl. She is largely a self-taught artist. She frequently works in pencil, as she did for this book, but also enjoys water-colors and experiementing with other media. She is inspired by folktales and myths as well as games and her imagination. Anita has a unique and creative style for bringing Maureen's words to life in her illustrations. Anita's illustrations are one of a kind and they will delight you, too.
Anita currently lives with her husband and little boy in Sacramento, California but she loves to travel. She also loves animals and enjoyed making these illustrations.
