Chickens Make Children Feel Good About Themselves.
After I launched my first children's storytelling book, 'The Faie Acres Farm Beauty Pageant', I realized that children love chickens. As for me, I saw the competitive part of the chicken. My neighbor has a lot of chickens and I watch them scatter throughout the year each day.
I watch their mindless activity of scratching and fluttering. Then I thought what if…..
What if chicken were friends with each other?
What if chickens liked the way they looked and wanted colorful feathers?
What if the rooster had a favorite chicken?
What if one chicken thought it was better than the others because of its beautiful feathers
What if a chicken was mean to the others?
What if is the idea that took me to my Beauty Pageant?
My words gave life to these chickens through the art of storytelling.
My chickens make connections to real situations of competition, beauty, kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity and self-esteem.
The importance of storytelling help make connections for your child, think about how he or she behaves. It makes them value who they are for their originality and special qualities. Isn't that what you want for your child? Children need to hear that they are unique and important and this can be achieved through childrens storytelling. And this is easily achieved through storytelling stories
