Freddie Frog's
Adventures book
There isn't a person that doesn't think of the storytelling Kermit the frog and smile. Go one step further and I would say there isn't a person who hasn't had a frog as a friend. Frogs hop in and out of our lives. Freddie Frog hopped into my life a few years ago when I was teaching storytelling and storytelling techniques to my high school students.
As an assignment related to the art of storytelling, the students had to write a children's story. I always offer my students an example of what I want so Freddie Frog took its present day form. I made a connection to my students by having the frog run away from home. What child doesn't threaten to run away from home? Having three children of my own I know what they said to me; the importance of interactive storytelling can in fact save a lot of future anguish for you .
Storytelling with Maureen
Once I had Freddie roam down the road I created the danger that would send him safely back home. I think every child learns quickly that once they leave home they soon learn that home loves them. Home loves them for who they are and home is a loving place to be.
So as you travel with Freddie the Frog, you will learn to love him. His big eyes and casual life style will make you feel at home. His bog will be home to you, too.
